Moving to Valparaiso was a complete surprise. Emily Johannes, who is the wife of Gabe Johannes, and I have been friends for years and always planned to live near each other when we were 80 years old and kicking back at a retirement center. We were so blessed when God made it possible decades earlier. In 2014 my husband took a job in Portage and we moved to Valparaiso. We were immediately invited to Calvary by Emily and never left.
I started here at Calvary as the Administrative Assistant for Student Ministries but stayed on through a variety of job title changes and responsibilities until landing in my current role of Associate Director. I love the passion, honesty, awkwardness, and vulnerability students bring to life. I love developing our leaders and investing in their growth as they invest in the lives of students. As an Enneagram 2, I am constantly on the outlook for ways to help and encourage for the betterment of the entire team. I am a certified Enneagram Coach, which offers another avenue of helping students and families better understand how God has wired each one of us.
